Gameplay

Matches pit teams of three characters against each other, mixing series regulars like Genos, Tatsumaki, and Garou with a fully customizable original hero that players build and level up. Saitama sits outside normal balance: he is invulnerable to enemy attacks and defeats any opponent in one hit, but joining a team with him means he shows up late to the fight. An alternate Dream Version of Saitama removes these restrictions for a more conventional playstyle.

Story Mode

The single-player campaign follows the custom hero climbing the Hero Association ranks while the events of the anime's early seasons play out around them, giving series characters room to interact with an original protagonist. Reception and Legacy

Spike Chunsoft develops the game and Bandai Namco Entertainment publishes it for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows, releasing in Japan on February 27, 2020, and worldwide the next day. Critical response landed in mixed territory, with Metacritic aggregates of 57 on PS4 and 59 on Xbox One and outlets like IGN and Push Square scoring it 6/10; it still earned a Best Fighting Game nomination at The Game Awards 2020. Online multiplayer servers closed by 2022.
