Food Battler Futoshi

In his usual state Futoshi is a rotund figure with short brown hair. His hero getup pairs an orange bodysuit stamped with a large letter F and a matching yellow cape, finished by red gloves and a red twin-spiked helmet bearing a smaller F. A black mask covers his eyes. Push him through a long enough exertion and his stored calories burn away, leaving him startlingly gaunt and thin.

Generosity marks his character; he readily shared his rice balls with Pig God while the two waited outside the Monster Association base. His stint in the raid on that base humbled him, driving home just how far he stood below the elite heroes. Recognizing that only overwhelming power truly turns such battles, he chose to relieve Genos of guarding the civilian Waganma so the cyborg could rejoin the fight.

Futoshi first appears sharing a restaurant meal with fellow heroes when an emergency call interrupts them. Later assigned to the support team during the Monster Association raid, he panics under the monster onslaught yet manages to slip free of several attackers while helping escort Waganma to safety. When Nyan routs the group, Sekingar orders him to flee with the boy; the monster catches up and slashes his belly before Drive Knight's shape-shifting box severs its grip. Burning through his calorie stores as he runs, Futoshi is scooped up by a passing Genos alongside the other wounded heroes and carried clear of Z-City. He later turns up at the Hero Association's A-City headquarters when Tatsumaki battles Apollo in the lower levels.

His power stems from a special metabolism that turns eaten nutrients straight into fat, letting him keep fighting for as long as reserves remain; he names this fuel conversion Quick Fat Burning Mode. Spent completely, he grows skinny and loses much of his physical edge, so he must keep snacking mid-battle. Despite his bulk he shows sharp reflexes and agility that let him dodge Mysterious Beings, and his glasses double as a meter tracking how many calories he has burned.
