Summary

As King and Tareo run, the air ahead of them warps into a strange distortion. Metal Bat catches sight of the same effect, which keeps him from making out the pair right in front of him. Pineapple, Mohican, and Food Battler Futoshi step out of the shimmer, and Futoshi explains that it is a quantum stealth screen hiding a tank. Waganma climbs out of the vehicle and throws his arms around Tareo, who is glad to find him safe. Asked whether Child Emperor was his rescuer, Tareo says no, crediting King and the uncle, meaning Garou. Waganma then begs King and Metal Bat to go save Child Emperor. Suspicious that the boy has really changed, Metal Bat relaxes only when Waganma promises his father will foot the medical bills. Pineapple and Mohican apologize for having let the monster snatch Waganma away.

Key Events

Metal Bat urges the two not to lose heart, insisting that a man is at his strongest when he owes a debt, but the pair still feel small next to the S-Class heroes. Sekingar emerges from the tank, tells them to stop fretting over the difference in power, and assigns two lower-ranked heroes to protect the children. He then orders Metal Bat and King to wait somewhere they can watch the fight. Impressed that the Hero Association fields a man like Sekingar, Metal Bat complies. King, meanwhile, rues that he could do no more when Elder Centipede mistook him for a mighty foe, yet he reassures himself that Saitama will turn up.

Working up his nerve, King vows to give it his all, earning a teasing pat from Metal Bat. Tareo asks him to save the uncle, and when King wonders aloud who that is, Tareo admits he does not truly know, only pleading that King not bully the man if he finds him. Metal Bat rigs a slingshot from a tire and a line tied to a truck he kicks into place. Both heroes load in, the two boys wish them luck, and Sekingar cuts the rope with a laser, flinging King and Metal Bat through the air to crash down beside a batting cage.
