Nanako Baba

Her most eye-catching feature is a pair of star-shaped contact lenses that put tiny sparkles in her gaze. When she is mimicking her idol, she also dons a wig and a shrine maiden's robes to pass herself off as Rei.

On the surface Nanako reads as cheerful and bubbly, but that brightness masks a fragile self-image underneath. Her sense of worth is bound up almost entirely in the person she admires, which leaves her easily crushed the moment that admiration seems unwelcome.

Set on becoming a priestess exactly like Rei Hino, Nanako trails her everywhere and imitates her every gesture. The illusion shatters when she overhears Rei speaking dismissively about her, wrongly assuming the girl only tags along because she has nothing else in her life. Wounded, Nanako leaves the shrine in tears.

Outside, VesVes targets her for a Dream Mirror, only to draw a blank one. The Lemures known as ManeMane Girl then taunts her before the Guardians, dragging her hidden insecurity into the open. The battered Nanako tearfully pleads for the mockery to stop, and her raw honesty stirs Sailor Mars, who awakens the Mars Flame Sniper in that moment. Rescued at last, Nanako trades her borrowed ambition for a genuine one, thriving as a wildly popular server at a hamburger restaurant.
