History
Saori shared both school and university years with Mamoru and quietly fell for him, never noticing that their friend Kobayashi had fallen for her in turn. She meant to declare herself by giving Mamoru a tie. When her Dream Mirror is targeted, she half-consciously watches Usagi and Mamoru battle Pooko, seeing Sailor Moon throw herself between Mamoru and an attack and hearing him cry out his private nickname for her, Usako, terrified of losing her. Realizing that Usagi is Sailor Moon and that no one could match her devotion to Mamoru, Saori hands the tie to Kobayashi instead, and the two are implied to become a couple afterward.
