Tomoko Takase

Two braids frame her face, one falling on each side of her head and often finished with a yellow bow at the tip. Round glasses sit over dark blue eyes, and her hair is a deep green. She stands at roughly average height with a slim build. Away from her school uniform she favors a yellow sweater under a dress, and an olive jacket turns up on her at points through the episode.

She comes across as timid and reserved, quick to doubt her own work and slow to voice her feelings, including a crush she never manages to confess. Beneath that shyness runs a genuine love of storytelling, the fantasy tales she pours into her notebook.

Tomoko knew Makoto from their days as classmates, though the two grew close away from school. By a riverbank one afternoon, a group of boys mocked the fantasy stories she wrote and snatched her notebook to toss around, until Makoto's presence scared them off. Makoto then introduced herself, noticed the novel in progress, and urged Tomoko to chase a writing career. When the book was done, Makoto praised it warmly and pushed her to keep going. The two later lost contact after Makoto moved, but Tomoko's novel caught on and grew popular. The Sailor Guardians paid her a visit while she was stuck in a bout of writer's block. Caught by Tiger's Eye and freed after Sailor Chibi Moon called Pegasus using Twinkle Yell, she glimpsed the winged horse in person, and the sight rekindled her drive to finish the story with Makoto beside her.
