Snoops

Snoops is tall and thin, his shoulder-length black hair hanging in messy curtains around his face. Dark concentric rings circle drooping red eyes, and a wispy moustache paired with a small pointed goatee sharpens his gaunt look. He dresses in a loosely worn black business suit over a white shirt and a navy striped tie, the sloppiness feeding his disheveled air.

To Snoops, information is merchandise. He sells what his bugs pick up to anyone willing to pay, keeps no loyalties, and quietly builds contingencies the moment a job turns sour. Confrontation is not his style; he wins from dark rooms through surveillance, deduction, and manipulation.

Beneath the businesslike surface runs genuine cruelty. His endgame aboard Princess Lorelei is to send the whole ship to the bottom, taking his targets, their guards, his fellow assassins, and every civilian passenger with it, and he dresses his bombs as Westalian ordnance in hopes of baiting a new war between the two nations. Even while readying his escape, he relishes the thought of listening to the drowning passengers scream through the microphones he planted himself.

Hired by Leonardo Hapoon to help eliminate Olka Gretcher and her infant son, Snoops seeds Princess Lorelei with listening devices, one even disguised as a suit button, and monitors every conversation aboard, his knack for tracking multiple feeds at once earning him his nickname. When Olka slips and mentions that her son carries her father's name, he cross-checks the passenger manifest and pins down her alias, Shaty Grey, selling the discovery to the other assassins.

He follows the operation's collapse through his bugs: silence from the assassin Knockman tells him the target's guards are real, and an intercepted coded transmission lets him predict the escape attempt that triggers the killers' failed ambush. Having also overheard two colleagues plotting to rob him, he prepares countermeasures. With every other assassin wiped out, Snoops rigs the ship with explosives and readies a raft, planning to finish the contract, erase the witnesses, and frame Westalis in a single stroke.

The wounded Assassin Leader corners him at knifepoint during the getaway, and their brittle partnership snaps when Snoops admits the raft carries supplies for one. Mid-struggle, Loid Forger hurls one of the planted bombs overboard, and the blast pitches both men into the sea. They are last seen adrift, ringed by circling sharks, and Snoops is presumed dead.
