Craig Hojo

Hojo stands tall on a lean frame, a middle-aged man whose black hair is swept straight back and trimmed close at the front sides of his head. Frameless glasses rest over his pale eyes, a scar runs across his left one, and his face tends to hold a hard, chilly set.

His brief showing leaves much of his character unexplored, but Hojo reads as cold and sharp-minded, secure enough in himself to concede that he and his men had badly misjudged Class 3-E. That readiness to admit the error, along with his hesitation over killing unarmed children, hints at a moral line most mercenaries would not draw.

Decades of soldiering make Hojo a fearsome operator; Karasuma reckons him three times his own strength on sight. He specializes in guerrilla warfare, moving with speed and precision, and once rounded up the whole of Class 3-E in an instant. His analytical eye told him the students were no ordinary teenagers, reading Karma Akabane's earlier show of deference as a hidden reserve of skill. His trump card, a 'Predator Mode' unlocked by removing his glasses, turns him into a beast able to survive impossible odds, yet it can be shut down simply by stopping him from taking the glasses off.

During the government's operation he swiftly subdued the class and nearly downed Kaede Kayano, only for the students' hit-and-run tactics and tranquilizer rounds to keep him from cutting loose. A dart from Ritsu's drone dulled his senses, Nagisa's specialized technique stunned him, and Karma's axe kick put him on the ground, where the class bound him and confiscated his glasses. His ultimate fate is left unclear, though he was most likely stripped of his post and arrested alongside his men.
