Hiroto Maehara

Maehara wears his orange-blond hair in short, wavy layers with bangs falling to each side, above light brown eyes. Tall for a middle schooler at 175 centimeters, he is widely considered handsome by the girls, one of the few students popular across the entire school despite being stuck in the End Class.

Genuinely likable and a flirt through and through, Maehara lives by the moment, shrugging off even a breakup with Kaho Tsuchiya. For all his womanizing, he is caring at heart and never the sort to prey on someone weaker than himself. He is also plainly honest and quick to react with strong emotion.

Long before his proper introduction, Maehara is usually seen beside Yuma Isogai, a best friend he has known since their elementary years and who knows his entire dating record. His own spotlight arrives when Tomoya Seo and the school's top students corner and beat him over his closeness to Kaho Tsuchiya, who shifts the blame onto him before the chairman steps in to break it up. Class 3-E answers the humiliation with an elaborate revenge, and Maehara plays his part by dropping caterpillar-laden branches onto the pair, walking away certain he is not the kind to belittle the weak before dashing off to another date. With a blade he is bettered only by Isogai among the boys, ranks among the class's most agile members, and is even counted the fourth-best kisser in the group. His feelings for Hinata Okano surface in the Valentine's storyline, where he admits he would not know her so well, down to her favorite song, if he did not care for her. Years after graduation he goes on to work in advertising.
