Natsuhiko Koyama

Koyama peers out from behind black-framed glasses, his long, shaggy black hair lending him a perpetually disgruntled air. A unibrow sits above eyes often squeezed into squints, his mouth stretched into an outsized grin that bares a set of crooked, uneven teeth.

Koyama shares the general temperament of the Five Virtuosos, carrying the same disdain for Class 3-E that pervades the main campus and bristling whenever those students get the better of him. He is sharply intelligent and a standout in science, even if he keeps getting edged out of the very top rankings.

Koyama's academic weapon is sheer memorization; he boasts of having committed every chemical formula to memory ahead of the school's exams. His confidence was not always there. Through his second year he drifted without direction and became a frequent target of Ryoma Terasaka's mockery, until Gakushu Asano urged him to look down on others and make full use of his ability. The advice awakened a buried ego and sent his self-assurance soaring, leaving him deeply indebted to Asano. Long after graduation he reportedly takes a job at a pharmaceutical firm, where he cuts off his unruly hair, straightens his teeth, and even reshapes his jaw.
