Yukiko Kanzaki

Kanzaki has fair skin and long, straight black hair worn in a hime cut, the bangs resting just over her brows, paired with light brown eyes. She is regarded as strikingly pretty. The summer before entering Class 3-E she briefly dyed the ends of her hair a dark brown. With her uniform she wears black tights, a choice noted as a mark of her modesty.

Gentle, poised, and diligent, Kanzaki carries herself with a ladylike elegance, yet she is far from a pushover. She holds her ground when pressed, keeping her usual smile even while doing something intimidating, whether aiming a mechanical pencil near Ren Sakakibara's eye or picking off classmates during the paintball war. Years of her father's demands left her with a rebellious side, and she developed a real fondness and skill for arcade games. Her classmates observe that she has poor luck with men, drawing unwanted attention through her looks and seemingly passive manner.

Kanzaki grew up in a rigid, high-class household where status meant everything, watched over by a capable older brother with a severe attachment to their mother. Buckling under a father who demanded she become an ideal woman, she rebelled by haunting arcades and neglecting her studies, and her collapsing grades, chemistry worst of all, dropped her into Class 3-E. Her first real spotlight comes on the Kyoto trip, when delinquents pickpocket her notebook and later abduct her and Kaede Kayano, only for Nagisa, Karma, Sugino, and Manami Okuda to mount a rescue. That night she stuns everyone with her fluency at a bullet-curtain game, admitting she had hidden such talents out of fear they would be frowned upon.

She surfaces at key moments thereafter: standing up to the sadistic instructor Akira Takaoka and getting struck for it, dueling Ren Sakakibara academically in Japanese literature, falling ill to the island virus, and pairing with Sugino in a Test of Courage while staying oblivious to his crush. She empathizes with Kotaro Takebayashi's family pressures, later joins the save-Korosensei team in the civil war and racks up a strong kill streak before Karma ambushes her, and stands with the class as it learns their teacher's past. Her gifts run to marksmanship sharpened on first-person shooters, top marks in Japanese, and elite gaming skill. Seven years on, she works at an elderly care home, wheeling a resident out to the park.
