Closing Time: First Semester

Across two days the whole third grade sits its finals, and Korosensei's coaching pays off in duel after duel: Nakamura and Nagisa breeze through an English passage after reading a novel in both languages, Okuda grasps the role of language in science, and Isogai outpaces his rival on African history thanks to a personal night trip abroad with the octopus. When the marks post, Class A monopolizes the top six and Gakushu holds first overall, yet Class E claims three subject titles, enough to earn the destruction of three tentacles.

Karma's arrogance drops him from fourth to thirteenth, and Korosensei lets the boy stew, reasoning that a crushing loss will teach him more than an easy win.

Just as Korosensei counts himself lucky to lose only three tentacles, Terasaka, Hazama, Yoshida, and Muramatsu reveal they all tied for first in Home Economics, a subject no one excluded from the deal. When the horrified teacher calls it a minor subject, the class pounces on the slight, and he is conned into surrendering seven tentacles in total. Isogai asks that the actual assassination wait, since the class plans to use the wager's prize for the attempt.

At the closing ceremony Class E collects on its bet against Asano and the Big Five, holding their heads high as the dean's jabs fail to rattle them. Their reward proves to be a resort trip to a small island in Okinawa, the chosen stage for their grand assassination.

The episode adapts Chapters 53 through 55. In the anime it is Kataoka who comforts a nervous Okuda during the assembly, where the manga has Kayano do so, and the anime adds reaction shots of the other Big Five. It first aired in Japan on May 8, 2015.
