Takaoka's Time

Gastro blocks the students at the darkened theatre, tracking them by sound even without a clear view. When Hayami opens fire and grazes his weapon, the hitman recoils at the live rounds and shoots back through the gaps in the seating, aware that the soundproof room hides the gunfire from anyone outside. Korosensei slips to the front row unnoticed and begins issuing movement orders, first by real names and then by coded aliases the class alone can decode, scrambling Gastro's read on their positions.

The gunman still pins down where he believes Chiba is crouched, but the figure that rises turns out to be a dummy built by Sugaya. The genuine shooter fires from elsewhere, a rig of stage equipment crashes down, and Hayami knocks the revolver clean out of Gastro's grip. With the marksman restrained and bound, the group presses on to the top floor.

Above, Karasuma silences a lone sentry, and Nagisa quietly notices that Terasaka is running a fever from the same sickness, though the larger boy hushes him. Inside the final room they find a bomb-rigged briefcase and lunge for the detonator, only for the man to toss a fistful of decoy triggers into the air. The mastermind is exposed as Akira Takaoka, face scarred and eyes wild, one of the bounty seekers Karasuma had earlier flagged alongside three freelancers.

Takaoka admits he chases both the reward and revenge for the shame the class inflicted on him, fixating on Nagisa in particular. He herds everyone to the helipad, demands Nagisa duel him for the cure, and severs the stairway to lock out any help. After forcing the boy to kneel and apologize, the former soldier detonates the case holding the antidote vials. Watching the only cure vanish, Nagisa snatches up Takaoka's dropped blade and declares he will end him.

The installment was first broadcast under the title XX Time, an echo of the manga chapter whose heading appeared struck through. It draws on chapters 68 through 70 and first aired in Japan on June 12, 2015, with the broadcast dub following on July 15, 2015.
