Chapter 23

June arrives with nine months left on the students' contract, and the wet weather swells Korosensei's head by a third as it soaks up moisture. He points out that the crumbling old building leaks into buckets on the floor while the air-conditioned main campus stays dry, then plucks a mushroom sprouting under his hat and tells the class to keep their spirits up through the season.

Walking home in the rain, Nagisa, Kayano, Sugino, and Okano notice Maehara with Kaho, a girl from Class C, while Korosensei lurks nearby jotting notes for a planned book of the students' love lives. The calm breaks when a pack of main-school boys led by Seo appears. Kaho shoves Maehara aside and, once cornered, blames him for being a 3-E dropout she claims she will never have to see again.

Maehara fires back that Kaho only kept him close while Seo was busy, but the boys knock him down and beat him. Chairman Asano then steps out of his car, halts the violence, and hands Maehara a handkerchief, all while making his scorn for Class E clear. As the group walks off, the four classmates worry they might treat a weaker person just as coldly. Korosensei reappears with an enormously swollen head and vows to repay Seo and Kaho with humiliation far worse than what they dealt Maehara.

Nineteen pages long, the chapter ran in 2013 issue 2 on December 10, 2012, and belongs to the third volume. Its Japanese title Shikke no Jikan means Time to Get Damp. It follows Time for Independence and leads into Time for Revenge.
