The fifth chapter turns to Karma Akabane, the class troublemaker who treats killing his teacher as a game. His provocations force Korosensei to answer in the strangest way possible, transforming a lethal prank into a lesson delivered with a homemade snack.
Chapter five centers on Karma Akabane, who keeps needling Korosensei and treating the assassination as sport. After chasing off two Class D boys who are picking on Nagisa Shiota, Karma grills Nagisa for everything he knows about their teacher, thrilled at the prospect of ending a grown man's life by his own hand. His scheme comes to a head when he offers Korosensei an octopus with a blade driven through it, only for the teacher to counter in a way no one anticipates.
Rather than fall for the trap, Korosensei blurs away, returns carrying a missile, and uses it alongside his tentacles to cook the octopus into takoyaki, then pops a piece into Karma's mouth. He tells the boy he intends to keep refining him no matter how he acts out, promising that by the time the school year ends, Karma's body and spirit alike will be scrubbed completely clean.
The Japanese title is Karuma no Jikan. Running twenty-one pages, the chapter was published on July 30, 2012 in the thirty-fifth issue of 2012 and collected in the first volume, Assassination Time. It follows Time to Get Down to Work and precedes It's Time to Make a Choice.
