Identity Time

As the killers map out a rescue for Azusa, Korosensei spots Hotaru gripping a blade and declaring that she too intends to save her mother. He gently takes the knife from her, tells her he admires her nerve, yet urges her to hold back and let the professionals act. Before long Seeker pins down where a man called Sengoku can be found. Watching the four work, Korosensei shares that Seeker once directed air traffic until a crash cost him the job, after which he turned those skills toward other ends. Seeker adds that Sengoku operates as a loan shark, trapping borrowers beneath crushing debts they can never clear. Left with no way out, Azusa had been made to put her name to a contract that surrendered her to Sengoku's sexual abuse.

Chantha springs the front lock with a master key, and the pair left behind are told to stay put. Just before Sengoku can lay a hand on Azusa, the four burst in and trade blows with his hired muscle. During the melee Korosensei tells Hotaru that each assassin once held an honest job before bad luck steered them into this life, and when she asks how he knows, he confesses he once shared their trade before finding greater meaning elsewhere. Every thug falls except Sengoku, who puffs himself up over his yakuza ties and a supposedly lawful contract. Leaning on his grasp of the law, Futoshi points out that the terms are wholly illegal, and that a trial would leave the yakuza glad to make Sengoku the scapegoat. Beaten, the loan shark bows his head and releases Azusa.

After mother and daughter reunite, Korosensei sends the killers to walk Hotaru back to the bar and hail a cab. As they leave, they wonder aloud whether honest work might let them help people. The moment they are clear, Azusa remarks that they nearly wrecked her own scheme and triggers a bomb hidden in her cleavage, ending the story in an explosion.

This is the third bonus installment, running nineteen pages and released on April 18, 2016, in issue 20 of that year. It sits in the twenty-first volume and leads toward the entry titled Time to Say Thank You. A flashback also brings in Class 3-E. The Japanese title reads Sujō no Jikan.
