Korotan D Chapter 1

Nagisa and several classmates from the old class 3-E set out for their university entrance exams, only for a heavy snowfall to derail the plans. Karma, who did sit his own test, arranges to meet a friend at a family restaurant in three hours. Waiting there, Nagisa watches with a touch of envy as Karma strolls in standing 185 centimeters tall, having added a full ten centimeters since their middle school days, and Karma cannot resist ribbing his still-short friend.

Once talk of the exams winds down, Karma shares his idea of gathering everyone from 3-E for a graduation trip before adulthood scatters them. Nagisa mentions that Kayano is tied up shooting a film called Gold City, which Karma realizes was made by the director behind Sonic Ninja, a favorite of theirs. Learning that Nagisa keeps in touch with Kayano only through text so as not to disturb her career, Karma grins mischievously and proposes the class simply visit the film's location, framing any encounter as pure coincidence. He texts the plan to the group, who all agree to join, then leaves Nagisa flustered and lingering in the restaurant, sworn to keep the surprise quiet.

Snow cancels the entrance exam trip for Nagisa and part of the class, though Karma manages to complete his. Their reunion at the restaurant establishes how much time has passed, marked by Karma's growth spurt and teasing. The chapter's driving turn is Karma's scheme to organize a graduation trip aimed at Kayano's Gold City shoot, disguised as a chance meeting, a plan the whole class quickly signs on to.

This is the first chapter of the Korotan D light novel. It sets up the graduation-trip storyline and reintroduces the grown-up members of class 3-E, name-dropping several classmates who appear only in passing here.
