Summary
The murder of Pastor Nick throws the interior of the Walls into crisis, and an attempt to seize Eren Jaeger and Historia Reiss makes the danger unmistakable. Convinced that the crown's conduct puts all of humankind at risk, Erwin Smith commits to overthrowing the sitting government and installing Historia as its new queen.
Smoke Signal opens the arc, which continues through episodes such as Trust, Sin, Outside the Walls of Orvud District, and Ruler of the Walls, then closes with Bystander and Night of the Battle to Retake the Wall.
