The Shiganshina arc stands second among the story arcs of Before the Fall, the prequel to Attack on Titan. It spans chapters 5 through 13, collected in volumes 2 to 4, with serialization lasting from January 25 to October 25, 2014. The Titan's Son arc leads into it, and Visit to the Industrial City arc follows. Its title is an unofficial designation.
Summary
Having fled to Shiganshina District alongside Sharle, Kuklo cannot let go of one question: is he truly a Titan's offspring? To find the answer he stows away in a supply wagon belonging to the Survey Corps and rides out past the Wall. The journey proves he is an ordinary human being, and he returns to the district with the soldiers who survived the trip. His relief is short-lived. The Military Police seize him on fabricated charges and condemn him to death, a fate he escapes only through the aid of fellow prisoner Cardina Baumeister and the former captain Jorge Pikale.
The arc runs from Predawn Departure through Left for Dead.
