Overview
The Underground City arc is the fifth stretch of Attack on Titan: Before the Fall, the prequel to the main manga. Eight chapters, numbers 33 through 40, make up the arc, released from July 26, 2016 to February 25, 2017 and collected in volumes 10 and 11. Its name is unofficial. The Dissidence Movement arc leads into it, and the Restoration of the Survey Corps arc comes after.
Summary
Out from under Xavi's iron grip, Sharle hears that Angel Aaltonen, the famed inventor, may have taken up residence in the notorious Underground City buried below Stohess District. Determined to find him no matter the cost, she travels down into that sunless place and must survive its harsh, dangerous world on her own. Kuklo, meanwhile, regains consciousness somewhere unfamiliar, still marked by his fierce duel against Xavi. Chapters such as "Town of Eternal Night" and "Lone Shadow in the Town That Never Sleeps" frame Sharle's search through the subterranean quarter.
