Anka

Neck-length blonde hair, kept perpetually tucked behind her ears, frames Anka's youthful face. Small in stature, she is almost always seen in standard Garrison uniform, frequently at her commander's side.

Composure is Anka's default state. Emotion breaks through only at extremes: shock when news of the Trost gate breach arrives, open relief once the sealing operation succeeds. She carries out orders without protest, raising no objection when Pixis stakes everything on the untested gamble of Eren's Titan form, yet she reads the rank and file well, observing that fear alone can drive soldiers only so far. Formality has its limits around Pixis himself; she slaps the old commander awake when he dozes off drinking on the Wall and grumbles that she has no intention of playing his caretaker.

Anka reaches Trost District with Pixis just as the commander stops Kitz Weilman from executing Eren Yeager. Once Pixis resolves to use Eren's Titan to plug the broken gate, she joins the staff officers who hammer out the operation, and while the plan is being announced she talks it through with Armin Arlert and Gustav, pointing out that the soldiers' broken morale is an enemy on par with the Titans. From atop the Wall she follows the operation's progress, urging Pixis to recall the elite squad when Eren loses control of his Titan; Pixis refuses, and when the boulder finally seals the gate, Anka is the one who announces the success to the assembled soldiers.

When Wall Rose is falsely believed breached, she rouses a sleeping, drinking Pixis atop the Wall and reports the puzzling absence of Titan sightings, then stands by as the vanguard confirms there is no hole and relays what happened with Reiner and Bertolt. A fortnight on she joins Pixis at Erwin Smith's sickbed, where Erwin praises her as an exceptional aide while Pixis laments that she has confiscated his bottle. During the coup against the royal government, she delivers the false report of a Wall Rose breach to the King's throne room, carries the officials' callous reaction back to Darius Zackly, and confirms the suppression of the Interior Military Police once the throne room is taken.

She salutes the Survey Corps off on the evening they depart to reclaim Wall Maria. In the war's final phase she takes notes while Pixis questions Yelena about her secret meeting with Eren, attends the council where Pixis proposes a temporary surrender to the Yeagerists after Zackly's assassination, and watches in confusion as Zeke's scream drops people around her with an electric jolt. Though never shown in combat, her posting as one of Pixis's two escorts and her hand in the Trost strategy mark her as a soldier valued for brains as much as blades.
