Overview

The Blouse family is a modest Eldian clan settled in Dauper, a hunting village in the southern reaches of Wall Rose. Game grew scarce for them once Titans overran neighboring districts, and in later years the household shifted toward keeping stables, taking in homeless and parentless children as farmhands.

Sharp instincts and hunting skill run in the bloodline. Sasha, the family's daughter, finished among the top ten of her trainee class and eventually served in Levi Ackerman's Special Operations Squad.

Role

In 847 an argument reshapes the family. Sasha's father accuses her of cowardice for blaming outsiders over their lost land and dwindling food, and she storms off to enlist, determined to prove him wrong. She graduates ninth in the 104th Training Corps, fights through the Titan assault on Trost, and chooses the Survey Corps, riding in the 57th expedition beyond the Walls.

Three years after leaving home, Sasha rescues a young girl named Kaya from a Titan while patrolling the ruined villages of Wall Rose. Her father arrives with a band of horsemen and welcomes her back. She later guards Eren and Historia under Levi's command, takes part in the coup against the royal government, and joins the surprise assault on Liberio, helping bring down the Cart Titan. On the airship home, a shot fired by young Gabi Braun ends her life.

Grief does not close the family's story. Falco and Gabi, fleeing custody under the aliases Ben and Mia, find shelter at the Blouse stables and are treated with easy generosity. When the cook Niccolo exposes Mia as Sasha's killer and offers her father a knife, Artur refuses vengeance, telling his wife that sending Sasha away made him more answerable for her death than the girl could ever be. The couple then restrains Kaya when she tries to stab Gabi, and Yeagerist soldiers soon haul the whole family off as witnesses to the night's events.

Notable Members

Three members are known. Artur Blouse, the father, survives the series and runs the family stables. Lisa Blouse, his wife, cooks for the children sheltering on the farm. Sasha Blouse, their daughter, dies a Survey Corps soldier in 854.

The surname traces to the German expression "in Sauß und Brauss leben," roughly meaning to live off the land's abundance, a saying Sasha herself repeats.
