Fritz

Age and a full beard mark the Eldian king's face. His clothing tracks the growth of his power: a bare chest and an animal pelt around the waist in his tribal days, ever richer garments once Ymir begins amassing wealth on his behalf, a horned helmet for a time, and finally a crown set with five nine-pointed stars.

Appetite for domination defines Fritz completely. He wants the world, and death never strikes him as an obstacle; his dying command is engineered to extend his rule through his bloodline for eternity. People exist to him purely as instruments. He frames the children he fathers on Ymir as her reward for service rendered, and when she steps into a spear meant for him, he offers no gratitude, only an order to stand up and keep working, insisting that serving him is her sole purpose in life. Rather than bury her, he serves her corpse to their daughters to keep the power inside it from vanishing.

His cruelty runs just as deep in smaller matters. As chieftain he has villages raided and their survivors enslaved, mutilates, mutes, and blinds slaves without hesitation, and threatens to gouge an eye from every one of them over a single loose pig. When the other slaves point to Ymir, he has her hunted through a forest for sport. In his own words, so long as Eldia rules the world, the world belongs to him.

Fritz leads the Eldians while they are still a small tribe, presumably ordering the attack that enslaves Ymir's village. After the pig incident sends Ymir fleeing into the forest, she stumbles into a great tree hiding a pool where a spine-like creature dwells, and the power of the Titans passes into her. Discovering what she has become, Fritz pardons her and keeps her enslaved, setting her power to building bridges and roads, cultivating wastelands, and, wielded as a weapon of annihilation, wiping out the Marleyans. He makes her his concubine, and she bears him three daughters: Maria, Rose, and Sheena.

When surrendering Marleyan soldiers are forced to bow at his feet, one lunges with a spear hidden in the ground, and Ymir takes the blow. Refusing to believe such a wound could kill her, Fritz commands her to rise. She dies anyway. Terrified of losing the Titans' power forever, he has her body butchered and fed to their daughters, which succeeds in passing it on. From his deathbed he orders the girls to multiply and to have their descendants consume each other's spines down the generations, so that the blood of Ymir never perishes and his Titans reign forever.

The command outlives him by two millennia. The lives lost to the empire he set in motion ultimately number more than triple the world's population as of the year 854, and every Subject of Ymir descends from him and his concubine.
