Operating out of Stohess District, the company compiles news for the population inside the Walls and handles other printed material besides, wanted posters among it. Under the old regime its output was propaganda by mandate: only stories serving the Royal Government's interests could go to press, true or not, and journalists who defied that rule vanished. Chief journalist Roy recalls a colleague who tried to look into a miner's disappearance beneath the Walls; neither man was ever found again.

The paper's turning point arrives during the Royal Government arc. After Kenny Ackerman's Anti-Personnel Control Squad battles the Survey Corps inside Stohess, Military Police commander Nile Dok feeds Roy and Peaure the official version of events. Peaure starts noting the Interior Squad's involvement, but Roy cuts him off, promising Nile the sanctioned story will run unaltered.

Privately, both men despise the propaganda they print. Hange Zoë and Moblit Berner visit the next day with an unusual request: publish the truth a single time, as part of a scheme to restore the Survey Corps' name. When the Interior Squad is baited into exposing its real motives in public, Berg journalists are positioned to document everything and spread it across the nation. The story reaches Mitras quickly, the false accusations against the Scouts collapse, and the regiment regains its standing.

The company appears again in the Return to Shiganshina arc, taking part when the government discloses what Grisha Yeager's books revealed. Roy and Peaure afterward sit down with Hange, now commander, and Levi Ackerman to talk through the public's reaction and Roy's unease about what comes next.

Roy leads the operation as chief journalist, a man worn down by years of enforced dishonesty who nonetheless takes the risk of printing the truth when it matters. Peaure works alongside him and shares his distaste for government scripts. The business answered to the Royal Government until that body's overthrow.
