Borkoff

Borkoff presents as a heavily plated apostle whose most striking feature is a set of powerful jaws capable of clamping through flesh where blades cannot. Like others in the demon lancer unit he belongs to, he carries a second head set into his lower back.

His armored shell shrugs off ordinary steel, as Guts learns when a borrowed sword fails to pierce it during the Eclipse and the swordsman is forced to sever his own trapped arm instead. Borkoff's charging power is immense enough to smash straight through successive city walls, punching escape routes for the apostle host, and his jaws bite clean through an ogre's defenses in gladiatorial combat.

Borkoff first appears amid the ritual massacre of the Band of the Falcon at the Eclipse, locking his jaws around Guts' left wrist to stop the swordsman from reaching Casca as the other apostles close in on her, relenting only when Griffith emerges as Femto. Unable to cut through the hide with Gaston's blade while Femto assaults Casca, Guts amputates his own arm to break free.

Years later he serves in the reborn Band of the Falcon's demon lancer unit under Locus. During the assault on Wyndham Palace, the lancers shatter the Kushan lines but cannot halt Emperor Ganishka in his apostle form, which is precisely the diversion Griffith wants while he and Zodd free Charlotte from her tower. On Locus' signal, Borkoff rams through the city walls to open the host's retreat. He fights again at Vritannis and in the final clash with Shiva, and in the Fantasia Arc he kills and devours an ogre in the Pandemonium arena.
