Band of the Falcon (Reborn)

Taking its name from Griffith's original mercenary company, the reborn Band of the Falcon is the army he founds once he returns to the world in bodily form. Unusually, it unites humans and apostles under one banner, and after the Great Wave it serves as the chief military power of Falconia, with its platoons also guarding refugees who cross the perilous expanse of Fantasia.

The army traces back to a spiritual meeting between Griffith and Zodd before the Incarnation Ceremony, in which the Falcon of Light wounds the apostle into servitude and sends him to await his arrival at Albion. Reborn and carried off by Zodd, Griffith sets out to build his kingdom, and while freeing the city of Shet from Kushan control he is joined by the powerful apostles Locus, Grunbeld, and Rakshas, who all swear themselves to him. He then recruits the young seer Sonia as the band's medium and the noble Mule Wolflame with his remaining resistance troops.

The band drives the Kushan out of Midland, staging a diversionary assault on Wyndham so Griffith and Zodd can pluck Charlotte from the Tower of Rebirth. When Ganishka besieges Vritannis, the Falcons strike his flank and turn the battle, after which Charlotte names Griffith Supreme Commander of the Midland Regular Army and the pontiff proclaims him the prophesied Falcon of Light. During the decisive clash at Wyndham, Ganishka reincarnates into a monstrous colossus, and though human members recoil at the War Demons fighting beside them, Sonia restores their unity. Griffith, in his Femto form, uses the Skull Knight's ambushing sword stroke to split Ganishka open, unleashing the Great Wave and raising Falconia.

Griffith commands the army, backed by a roster of legendary warriors. Zodd, hailed as a god of the battlefield, is his closest protector and frequent mount; Locus leads the lancers, Grunbeld commands a unit of giants, and Rakshas and Irvine handle stealth and long-range strikes respectively. Sonia serves as the band's telepathic medium and later its pope, while Mule Wolflame contributes cavalry. Above all stands Griffith himself, whose charisma and Od draw followers of every origin, including former Kushan pledges, and whose presence all but guarantees victory.
