Sylph Sword

The Sylph Sword ranks among the protective gifts the witches Flora and Schierke provide when the trolls threaten Enoch Village. Alongside it come other charmed items handed to the party, including Silver Surcoats for Casca and Farnese, Farnese's Silver Dagger, Serpico's Sylph Cloak, and Isidro's Salamander Dagger, with the Axe of the Gnomes being turned down. Serpico takes up the weapon as his own.

At first glance the piece looks like a plume duster, its shaft an oversized cluster of feathers lashed to a carved length of wood. Those feathers, though, are plucked from a mighty eagle whose nest crowns the tallest roost in Flora's enchanted forest, and the grip is cut from that very tree. Because of this origin, the blade channels the might of the Sylph, the old wind elementals from which the elves are said to spring, and anyone tuned to the Astral World can watch that current ripple across its surface.

The weapon reaches well past the span of its feathered edge, letting a compatible wielder hurl slicing gusts that shred foes at range. A precise enough stroke can sever a candle while leaving its flame lit. Serpico, already an accomplished swordsman, has worked out how to shove small objects and liquid aside with the summoned wind and how to lend his own blows extra force through the elemental magic.

Serpico wields the Sylph Sword, and his refined fencing lets him draw out effects a clumsier hand could not, from redirecting fluids to sharpening the impact of his cuts. The weapon responds only to those who share affinity with the wind spirits sealed inside it.
