The boy stays tethered to one familiar spot, drifting back to the same park each day around midday. Frightened and helpless when a predator closes in, he cries out in desperation for anyone willing to save him.
History
One afternoon in mid May, during one of his usual noon visits to Yumizawa Children's Park, the Hollow Hexapodus singles him out. As the creature bears down, Rukia Kuchiki holds Ichigo Kurosaki back, reminding him of his own claim that he would act only for family or friends. Unable to watch the child suffer, Ichigo steps in anyway, cuts the Hollow down, and then guides the spirit onward with a Konsō that carries him to Soul Society. In the anime adaptation, this stands as the very first Konsō Ichigo ever performs.
