Cinderella

Cinderella reaches her full, grown shape by molting beneath moonlight, emerging as a vast dragon feathered in brilliant white, her lashed eyes glowing blue or at times red. A bird-like beak sits beneath a flat, bone-white growth that shields her upper snout and curls back around her eyes, while a golden, five-pointed crown, her Crown-Shaped Horn, rises from her brow to lend her a regal bearing. A serpentine neck, broad leathery wings edged in feathers and set with talons and spikes, slender hind legs, and a long tail splitting into flowing plumes complete the form.

Before that molting she is a pink-skinned dragon with four thin limbs, bony fur-tufted wings, and a bald, bird-skull-like carapace pierced by five protrusions over her face. As a newborn she was smaller still, roughly the size of a cat, her beak short and rounded and her stubby wings fully feathered.

In her pre-molted state Cinderella is bound closely to Macy Baljure, sharing her keeper's moods so completely that she rages on Macy's behalf and turns her fire on whoever Macy points her toward, content otherwise to feed on fruit and vegetables. Molting severs that bond. Her grown self is carelessly destructive, scattering explosive Star Ash across whole city blocks almost absent-mindedly, and she no longer knows Macy at all, turning on her former owner despite the girl's pleas until Ninny Spangcole judges that the dragon can no longer be reasoned with.

Counted among the Märchen, Cinderella is said to have existed before Reverse London was ever founded and to stand as an ancestor of the Dark Dragons. Two months before the main events, Macy Baljure found her as an infant asleep on a rain-soaked rock, at first mistaking her for a trick of the eye. Only Macy could see the creature, and as it grew she took the secret as proof that she was special, naming it Elly.

When Macy walked away from her band, Cinderella began lashing out on her behalf, torching a monitor and later blasting apart part of a rival's office in Reverse London. Confronted by Ninny Spangcole, Macy set the dragon on her, only for Noel Niihashi to put Cinderella down. Reunited with Macy that night, the dragon attacked Bruno Bangnyfe, vanishing from sight with her Stealth Scale before wounding Rickenbacker and rising into the moonlight to molt into her true form.

Now unstoppable, she perched on a clock tower and rained Star Ash across dozens of buildings. Bruno resolved to kill her for the glory it would bring. A Hunger Shadow he summoned lunged at her Crown-Shaped Horn, but she burned it away, and when Noel and Ninny bound her with Supernal Jail while Bruno raised a Greedy Curtain, a single blast shattered every restraint and hurt all three casters without leaving a mark on her. Her one true weakness was that very horn, and it proved her undoing: as an energy blade emerged from Balgo Parks's Pipe and drew her gaze, Billy Banx Jr. sniped her through the crown from miles off, killing her. The Patchworks later recovered and preserved her body.
