Gōkei, whose name is given as Mawscape, is one of the killing methods available through Byakuya Kuchiki's Bankai, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi. It gathers the blade's petals into a sealed sphere so an enemy has nowhere left to flee before the storm closes on them.
Mechanics
The hundred million blade petals of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi wheel around the target in a sphere, sealing off every angle so that no gap or escape remains, then collapse inward to annihilate whatever is trapped inside. The force is enough to gut an enormous building from within, and the resulting shockwave is fierce enough that Byakuya himself must retreat with Shunpo.
