High-Speed Regeneration

High-Speed Regeneration is a supplementary power found across much of the Hollow population, a handful of Arrancar, and Soul Reapers who have gone through Hollowfication. Its Japanese name reads Chōsoku Saisei, literally super-fast or ultra-fast regeneration, and it functions as a survival trait rather than an attack.

The ability lets a Hollow bounce back from injury by accelerating its recovery to an extreme degree, sealing gashes and sprouting fresh limbs in mere moments. Many Hollows surrender the trait when they evolve into Arrancar, trading it for a larger pool of raw strength, yet those Arrancar still snap back to full health the instant they enter their Resurrección. The power carries clear limits. It cannot restore internal organs, the brain above all, so a fatal wound there leaves the rest of the body healing in vain. Likewise, a blow struck faster than the healing can keep up, or a single hit of sufficient force, can still put the user down for good.

The trait spans a broad swath of Hollows, a portion of the Arrancar, and Soul Reapers who have undergone Hollowfication. Sōsuke Aizen picks up a comparable regeneration after merging with the Hōgyoku, though he insists it differs from the Hollow version. The film The DiamondDust Rebellion offers another case: Yin and Yang recover at blinding speed once Sōjirō Kusaka uses the Ōin to turn them into Hollows, surviving even the sure-kill Nigeki Kessatsu, which Mayuri Kurotsuchi attributes not to their Hollow side but to the relic's power over life and death.
