History

Together with Hisagi and Aoga, Kanisawa helped lead a training expedition to the material world so that students could practice the Konso rite. Before setting out she had the cadets sort themselves into threes by matching the marked slips of paper handed out beforehand. As Hisagi was about to call an end to the day, a Huge Hollow killed her; Aoga tried at once to avenge her and was wounded by the same creature. Years later, in the lull between the Wandenreich's two assaults on the Seireitei, the two survivors visited her grave and mourned the way she had died.
