Appearance

Sealed as a weapon, Ikomikidomoe appears as a huge, near-luminous white broadsword flecked with black spots. When drawn into its Hollow form it becomes a colossal toad-like beast with long clawed forelimbs that nearly reach the ground and stunted hind legs. It has no visible neck, its head merging straight into its body, and its brow is patterned with hexagonal marks while a ridge runs from its nose across its cheeks to a pair of large circles. A lengthy beard trails beneath its small Hollow mask.

Personality

Ikomikidomoe is haughty and swollen with pride, taking offense at the mere idea that ordinary soul reapers might stand on the level of whoever wields him, and he scoffed at a Hollow as young as Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez hoping to rule Hueco Mundo. He held real regard for Baraggan Louisenbairn and grieved to hear of his death, yet his contempt showed in dismissing the mighty Tier Harribel and Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck as the old king's mere consorts. Vengeful by nature, he swore to repay the Royal Guard for his ancient defeat. Bound into a blade, he feels no true loyalty to his bearer and obeys only because their overwhelming spiritual pressure compels him; the instant Hikone Ubuginu's power dipped below his own, he turned and tried to devour the child.

Abilities

His signature trait is a capacity for endless evolution, growing ever stronger by consuming the full spiritual energy of his countless victims. Though he never rose above the Adjuchas class, his might came to impress even Baraggan, one of the first Vasto Lorde, who called him a willful calamity, and his reserves are described as inexhaustible, surpassing those of Arrancar born from Vasto Lorde. He moves with startling speed for his bulk, fires a Cero from his single eye, tears open Garganta at will even in sword form, and mends almost any wound by drinking in the surrounding Reishi. Because he has swallowed so many souls, no blade can readily purify him, which is why the Royal Guard chose to imprison rather than destroy him.

Being a Hollow reforged into a Zanpakutō, he answers to a ladder of release commands, each drawing out more of his strength until his full name, Ikomikidomoe Hōraku Hakkei, fuses him with his wielder to unleash both their peaks. His weaknesses are twofold: only rare hybrids such as Hikone can safely wield him, and Ichibe'e's Ichimonji left his true name erased and cursed, sapping his power and barring him from ever speaking it aloud.
