Kenpachi Kiganjō was the tenth warrior to carry the Kenpachi title and the man who led the 11th Division a century before Kenpachi Zaraki. Born Gosuke Kiganjō, he claimed his rank the division's way, by killing the captain before him.
Kiganjō cuts an imposing, roughly hewn figure with a large frame, dark skin, dark hair, and dark eyes. A pair of spiked studs pierce the skin beneath his lip, and stubble, body hair, and chipped nails round out his unkempt look.
Little is recorded about the man beyond his reputation for idleness. When he skips a captains' assembly, Shinji Hirako brands him a slacker and a boorish nuisance and wonders aloud how such a figure ever earned a captaincy, while Love Aikawa notes the 11th Division's blade-only customs left them no say in the matter.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....
Following the tradition of his squad, Kiganjō rises to captain and to the Kenpachi name by cutting down the ninth holder of the title. He is a no-show when the captains gather to introduce Kisuke Urahara, and absent again during the emergency meeting over the vanishing souls that claimed Kensei Muguruma and Mashiro Kuna. His run ends when Kenpachi Zaraki fells him with a single stroke before two hundred watching division members.
As an 11th Division captain, Kiganjō is a capable swordsman, skilled enough to slay his predecessor, and he carries a captain's vast spiritual pressure, yet he stands nowhere near Zaraki, who needed only one blow. The powers of his Zanpakutō, whose handle bears a gold-lined black ring, were never revealed. In the anime-only Bount episodes, Maki Ichinose remembers him fondly as a fellow believer in justice.
Kenpachi Kiganjo became the tenth bearer of the Kenpachi title by following the 11th Division's tradition of killing the ninth holder of the name to claim the position for himself.
Kenpachi Kiganjo was killed by Kenpachi Zaraki, who felled him with a single stroke before two hundred watching members of the 11th Division.
Kenpachi Kiganjo's Bankai was never revealed in Bleach. Even the powers of his Shikai remain unknown, though his Zanpakuto's handle bore a gold-lined black ring.
