Kirikaze

Kirikaze is a hulking green figure of dense muscle. A pair of long white horns and matching ears lend him a cattle-like cast, and his wholly red eyes sit oddly far toward the sides of his face. A black plate runs along the crown of his head, pinned by a small gold clasp at the brow, while a heavy gold ring pierces his nose. Metal guards armor his shoulders and join across the chest by a belted strap, and he wears matching gloves, gauntlets, and greaves along with blocky black boots over dark gray trousers cinched by a Y-shaped buckle.

Little of Kirikaze's temperament surfaces beyond his appetite for power. Kazeshini recalls that of all the Zanpakutō spirits, Kirikaze had chafed hardest against his master, whose control was the one thing that had kept him in check. Cut loose as a Tōjū, he indulges that resentment without restraint, drawing on as much strength as he pleases.

Kirikaze's might swells the more he consumes. By absorbing the spiritual energy of fellow Tōjū he grows in both power and physical size, becoming strong enough to fell one of them with a single blow and to overwhelm the assembled Zanpakutō spirits at once. His raw strength lets him hurl opponents into the ground, split the earth with his double-edged sword, and burst free of a high-level binding spell with his bare arms. His signature gift is a shift into mist: attacks pass harmlessly through the vapor, he reassembles behind his foes for ambushes, and he can pen enemies in or slither around strikes by condensing the fog into a serpentine shape, though the trick deserts him once he is badly hurt. In that mist state he can also engulf another Tōjū, seep inside, and drain it dry, a fatal process that even overrode Ruri'iro Kujaku's own draining ability, and he can raise a gale strong enough to fling captain- and lieutenant-level fighters aside. His rampage ends when the Gotei 13 and the Zanpakutō spirits wear him down and Renji Abarai finishes him with a point-blank Hikotsu Taihō.
