Personality

With her mother and father separated and no friends to speak of, Miyuki passes most of her days alone, keeping company with a stuffed doll she calls Shintaro after a dog she once had. She is strikingly innocent, so attached to the toy that she risks drowning to fish it back out of a river, and she is convinced her prayers are what let it move on its own.

History

Miyuki once lived in a large house with both parents and the real Shintaro, a dog. After the divorce she moved into an apartment with her mother, and because pets were not allowed there her mother bought her the matching stuffed animal; the original dog was later struck and killed by a car. During the Arrancar arc she drops the doll off a bridge and tumbles in after it, only to be pulled ashore by the toy, which now houses Kon thanks to Rangiku Matsumoto. Delighted that the doll can suddenly move, she admits how much time she spends by herself, and Kon takes her back to her old home. When he senses a two-headed dog Hollow, he shields her, and as it closes in her desperate cry for help causes one of its heads to attack the other. Afterward Kon gives her some tough love, urging her to make real friends instead of leaning on him forever and promising that both dolls will always watch over her, before mother and daughter are brought back together.
