Sode no Shirayuki

Her human form is that of a graceful, pale-skinned woman modeled on a yuki-onna, the snow spirit of Japanese folklore. Waist-length hair the color of pale lavender is gathered partly into a bun at the back, with a single strand dividing her icy blue eyes and a blue, star-shaped clip pinning one side. She wears a flowing white kimono with broad sleeves, cinched by a soft yellow-green obi that fastens to a large, pale-purple bow behind her.

While Muramasa's brainwashing grips her, the spirit is pitiless, chasing Rukia as far as the Human World to kill her and freezing lesser Shinigami where they stand, seething with resentment that her master leaned on her power without a thought. Even so, watching Rukia risk both their lives to set her free stirs a flicker of doubt that pulls her back. Released from that control, she turns gentle and courteous, addressing Senbonzakura and Rukia with deferential titles, though her judgment can be oddly skewed, as when she proposes freezing the entire Seireitei to throw a party. She admits that her own confidence once made her restless to act alone, and at first she fears she is nothing but a weapon without Rukia to guide her, a doubt that Rukia gradually talks her out of.

In the Zanpakutō Rebellion, she bides her time with the other rebel spirits under Muramasa before joining their assault on the Shinigami and gathering with them on Sōkyoku Hill. To prove his supposed defection, Byakuya Kuchiki is challenged to strike her down and does exactly that, and Senbonzakura hands her shattered sword back to a shaken Rukia. When Muramasa's power warps him into a Hollow that floods the Human World with Gillians, she reappears at Rukia's side, freed now that Mayuri Kurotsuchi has undone the brainwashing, and lends her ice to help seal the enemy's Garganta before returning to the blade upon Muramasa's death. In the later Beast Swords campaign she manifests freely once more, teaming with Rukia and Senbonzakura to hunt the rogue spirits called Tōjū, and although her scheme to lure one out with a party falls flat, she and Rukia join forces to bring the creature down.
