The Soul King, whose true name is Adnyeus, is the supposed sovereign of Soul Society and the father of Yhwach. In reality he is a sealed, limbless figurehead who acts as the linchpin of existence, the keystone that stops the Three Worlds from crumbling back into a single realm.
Adnyeus has a humanoid build with dark hair swept back and smooth, brow-less oval eyes. His most striking feature is those eyes, each divided among four black irises.
In his present state he is missing both arms and legs, held within a strange blue crystal that hangs from four wires in a vast, ornate chamber. When the crystal takes damage it shifts from its usual color to red. His earliest depiction showed him with limbs, but every later appearance presents him without them.
The Soul King is an enigma. He has never been shown to speak or register any emotion, which makes his true character nearly impossible to read, yet signs suggest he cares for the beings of Soul Society. After the Wandenreich's opening assault, he had the Royal Guard restore the Gotei 13 to strength, and his severed right arm actively fought to stop the Quincy from wrecking the Three Worlds. He also honors those who serve Soul Society greatly, granting them a place among the Royal Guard, the Oken within their bones, and a city of their own.
His feelings toward his son Yhwach stay unclear. Yhwach bitterly blames him for permitting the Shinigami to persecute the Quincy, and after enduring millennia of sealing he offered no resistance when Yhwach came to kill him, seemingly having foreseen his own end. His entire purpose is to keep the flow of souls stable, for without him the Three Worlds would collapse back into a single realm.
The Soul King wields spiritual power beyond measure. When Yhwach absorbed him, even that mighty Quincy buckled under the strain and needed time to adjust, while the king's Reiatsu poured out as a torrent of shadow creatures that menaced the Seireitei. Even two of his detached parts held enough power to serve Yhwach's elite guard, and his right arm alone held the Quincy at bay for some time.
His powers reach into perception and creation. His discerning eyes could witness everything across the Three Worlds, he shared his son's gift of foresight, and he and his body parts remain invisible to the precognition of The Almighty. Through an unknown rite involving a ceremonial sword, he divided the Primordial Sea to form the Three Worlds, and by that act gave rise to the very ideas of life and death. His power also transforms Royal Guard bones into the Oken. His limits are the restraints the Shinigami placed on him, which hold him immobile, and the fact that a fatal wound cannot be reversed by any means.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
The Soul King, whose true name is Adnyeus, is the supposed sovereign of Soul Society and the father of Yhwach. In reality he is a sealed, limbless figure who serves as the linchpin holding the Three Worlds together.
The Soul King's own power appears to exceed even Yhwach's, since Yhwach buckled under the strain of absorbing him and needed time to adjust to that power. Even two of the Soul King's detached body parts held enough strength to serve among Yhwach's elite guard.
Yes, the Soul King is Yhwach's father, though their relationship remains distant and unclear. Yhwach blamed his father for allowing the Shinigami to persecute the Quincy and ultimately killed him.
The Soul King's true name is Adnyeus, though within Soul Society he is known only by his title. He holds the position of linchpin of existence, the keystone that keeps the Three Worlds from collapsing back into one realm.
Through an unknown rite involving a ceremonial sword, the Soul King divided the Primordial Sea to form the Three Worlds. That act is described as having given rise to the very concepts of life and death.
