Uhin Zenjōji

Zenjōji is a huge, heavyset man with fair skin, a wide mouth, and small gray eyes. The center of his scalp is shaved bare, the hair cropped short on either side apart from a long thin braid trailing from the back, and a thick U-shaped red marking sweeps from one patch of hair, down under his face, and up to the other. Beneath the standard captain's haori and shihakushō he wears a gray suit laced shut at the front, over which sits a teal-gray apron edged in gold and crossed by a curving red line in the shape of an inverted U.

By Yhwach's account, Zenjōji earned a name as a savage, cold-blooded killer, a nature he showed plainly by slaughtering the Lichtreich Quincy when they first stormed Soul Society.

Over a thousand years ago Zenjōji was named the inaugural captain of the Twelfth Division. When the Lichtreich invaded, he met their soldiers head-on, crushing skulls with his bare hands and helping to break the Quincy army before settling into the peace that followed, having found things he wished to protect. His raw power matched his savagery: his spiritual energy was enormous, letting him cut down waves of Quincy warriors with ease, and his strength allowed him to grab two foes by the head at once and grind them together with almost no effort. His sealed Zanpakutō took the form of an oversized katana with an orange grip and a golden guard formed from two petals sitting against either edge of the blade; neither its Shikai nor its Bankai was ever revealed. He was eventually succeeded as captain by Kirio Hikifune.
