Episode 344 has Ichigo and Uryū grudgingly team up against a schoolyard gang before Ichigo's boss Ikumi hauls him off to work. There, Kūgo Ginjō resurfaces with a photo of Isshin, while Uryū is ambushed and gravely wounded by a mysterious pursuer.
Obuta's gang storms Karakura High seeking revenge after Ichigo beat one of their members, a thief, the previous day. Ichigo hides until Uryū strides up to lecture the thugs; when one mistakes him for Ichigo, Uryū breaks the man's nose and escalates the standoff. Ichigo reluctantly joins in, and the two floor Obuta with simultaneous punches while trading barbs about who started the fight and whether Uryū's Hollow-hunting risks drawing Soul Society's attention. The scuffle ends abruptly when Ichigo's employer, Ikumi Unagiya, kicks the remaining gangsters aside and bundles Ichigo into her van.
At the Unagiya Shop, a bound Ichigo argues with Ikumi over her odd-jobs business and its confusing name until her young son Kaoru wanders in, forcing her to swap her rough manner for a motherly one. A towering customer then arrives, whom Ichigo recognizes as the man from the mugging. After ordering tea, Kūgo Ginjō lays a photograph of Isshin Kurosaki on the table and asks Ichigo to run a background check on his own father, hinting there is much about the Kurosaki family Ichigo does not know and steering him toward the Urahara Shop.
Elsewhere, Karin visits Urahara for spirit-repelling gear and reaffirms that she and Ichigo's friends will protect him now that he is powerless. Kūgo catches Ichigo watching Karin leave the shop, needles him about Urahara's shady reputation, urges him to act while he still can, and finally introduces himself before handing over a card reading Xcution. That night, as Orihime visits Ichigo's room and gently probes whether something is troubling him, Uryū senses the same disturbance he felt earlier and chases a book-reading figure across the rooftops. The stranger moves at inhuman speed, leaving a green Bringer Light at his feet, and strikes Uryū down; the episode ends with Uryū lying bloodied in the street as sirens converge.
Ichigo and Uryū reluctantly fight side by side against Obuta's gang before Ikumi Unagiya drags Ichigo to work. Kūgo Ginjō presents a photo of Isshin, sows doubt about Ichigo's family and Urahara, and gives him an Xcution card. Karin secures protective items from Urahara. Uryū pursues an unseen enemy across the rooftops and is left critically injured near Ichigo's home.
This installment adapts Chapters 426 through 429 during the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc. The Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book segment features Jinta being tormented by Tessai and Ururu at the Urahara Shop while Karin looks on. Shūkurō Tsukishima is glimpsed observing Uryū. Harukaze opens the episode and Re:pray closes it.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
