Summary

Wielding his new dark blade, Ichigo drives Tsukishima back with a surge of black Reiatsu that singes the Fullbringer's arm. Tsukishima notes Ichigo is nearing his old Substitute Shinigami strength, and before Ichigo can strike again, Yukio's Invaders Must Die swallows him into a digital rectangle marked as Saving. Trapped amid endless green-and-black pixels, Ichigo demands release while Kūgo shields Yukio and Sado joins the fight with Brazo Derecha de Gigante. Once the gauge reads Complete, Riruka pins her Love Gun to Tsukishima's back and, with Yukio's prompting, he agrees to leave, only for Sado to suddenly double over in phantom agony.

At the hospital, Orihime visits Uryū, who asks her to fully heal his wounds now that Ichigo has made contact with his own attacker. Comparing notes, they suspect the same Fullbringer may have struck them both. Meanwhile Yukio Loads Ichigo out into Xcution's cramped backup hideout, where Sado wakes searching for a wound that no longer exists. Kūgo puzzles over why Tsukishima retreated so willingly when he could easily have hurt Riruka or Yukio, until Yukio argues Tsukishima would never attack while Yukio held the console controlling his powers.

Giriko returns from cleaning up witnesses, and Kūgo presses Yukio to aid Ichigo's training, reasoning Yukio's ability can hide Ichigo's Reiatsu from Tsukishima. Reluctantly Yukio transports Kūgo and Ichigo into his game dimension, conjures a life gauge of six with a timer, and steps back. Kūgo releases Cross of Scaffold against Ichigo's fledgling Fullbring. As Sado walks Orihime to the hideout, Riruka needles her over healing Ichigo again and again, but Orihime vows to mend any wound completely, recalling the hole Ulquiorra once tore in his chest. Inside the game, Kūgo carves down Ichigo's lives, and at the Urahara Shop, Isshin and a newly promoted Lieutenant Rukia join Urahara for the final phase of their own plan.

Notes

The 354th episode, part of the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, adapts chapters 447 and 448. Its Xcution Dictionary segment plays the game-world premise for laughs, with Ichigo wandering into an in-game poison swamp and learning he must reach a higher level before he can use Orihime, the party's healing item.
