Kenpachi's brawl with Nnoitra turns savage. The captain at last learns his foe can bleed, tears off his own spirit-sealing eyepatch, and Nnoitra answers by unveiling a many-armed release form that runs the giant through.
Nnoitra boasts that Kenpachi can never pierce his skin, then realizes his own sword has only slipped through the Hollow hole set over his left eye, sparing the captain. Rather than despair, Kenpachi bursts out laughing, delighted to confirm his enemy can in fact be killed. That certainty is all the motivation he needs.
Kenpachi soon carves through Nnoitra's Hierro and draws first blood, shears off the upper half of his Zanpakuto, and slashes his chest. In the exchange, Nnoitra accidentally knocks away Kenpachi's eyepatch, the seal restraining his enormous spiritual pressure. With his power unleashed, the captain grows far deadlier, and a desperate Nnoitra releases his Resurreccion, Santa Teresa, sprouting extra arms and blades.
The released Nnoitra cuts Kenpachi across the midsection and drops him in a pool of blood, seemingly dead, then turns on the others. As he advances on Yachiru, Orihime throws up a Santen Kesshun barrier, and Yachiru warns him to look behind himself.
Kenpachi, having only feigned death to buy time to think, severs one of Nnoitra's arms and reveals his plan to cut them off one at a time. Nnoitra simply regrows the limb and sprouts still more, vowing to shred the captain before he can retaliate. He hurls Kenpachi through a tower, and when the captain rebounds, Nnoitra grows two additional arms and drives one straight through his chest, laughing as he promises to tear him apart with all six.
Adapting chapters 308 through 310 of the second Hueco Mundo arc, the episode escalates the Kenpachi and Nnoitra duel with the debut of the Espada's mantis-like release form. A Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book segment finds Iba begging Ichigo to arrange a television program to lift the Seventh Division's morale, only for Komamura to admit he rather enjoys shows about dogs.

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
In "Nnoitra Released! Multiplying Arms," Nnoitra's Resurreccion sprouts extra arms and blades; after Kenpachi severs one, Nnoitra regrows it and grows still more, ultimately promising to shred the captain with all six of his arms.
