Summary
A flashback shows Jugram Haschwalth briefing the Sternritter on Yhwach's plan to crush the captains' pride alongside their stolen Bankai. In the present the invaders reappear inside the Seireitei's shadows, and Yhwach recounts how the Quincy built their hidden empire over a thousand years. Haschwalth calls on Shunsui Kyōraku and Nanao Ise, who has walled him off with a barrier that neutralizes Quincy powers, while Askin Nakk Le Vaar meets an unexpectedly prepared Mayuri Kurotsuchi, whose laboratory now casts no shadow at all.
The heaviest fighting falls to two captains stripped of their Bankai. Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto combine ice and ash into a layered vacuum wall that stops Bazz-B's flames, and Hitsugaya pins him with a hollow ice blade, though Bazz-B soon melts free and burns through the captain with his Burner Finger attacks before Cang Du arrives to claim the kill.
