Weighed down by his earlier defeat, Ichigo admits he doubts he can beat Kariya, and his gloom draws a boar-riding Ganju crashing into the shop. Ganju and Renji haul him into Urahara's underground chamber and spar with him until Renji's blunt goading, that fear of losing is what makes Ichigo weak, rekindles his resolve.
