The Shocking Truth...The Mysterious Power Within Ichigo!

Ichigo demands to know what Aizen means by saying every fight has served his plan. Aizen explains that once he recognized Ichigo as the very thing he sought, he set out to nurture his growth, and he lists the oddities Ichigo overlooked: a Hollow striking right after he met Rukia, a Menos appearing over bait meant for lesser prey, Rukia being reported to Soul Society despite undetectable Reiatsu, and Byakuya, Renji, and Kenpachi each challenging him precisely as his strength matched theirs. Ichigo lashes out, but Aizen blocks and catches the blade with ease, mocking him for being weaker than expected.

When Ichigo protests that this contradicts what Aizen said at Sōkyoku Hill, Aizen counters that people simply accept whatever truths they wish to hear, and reveals he arranged Rukia's dispatch, equipped Renji to sense Reiatsu, and knew the Hōgyoku's location all along. He says he has known Ichigo since the day he was born and begins to explain that Ichigo is human and something more, only for Isshin to appear in his own Shinigami form and cut him off for saying too much.

Isshin headbutts Ichigo across the rooftop and kicks him clear of the building to open distance from Aizen. Reassuring his stunned son, Isshin insists Ichigo must have countless questions, but Ichigo says he has none, trusting that his father kept silent for good reason, and thanks him for the blow that snapped him back to himself. Gin Ichimaru rejoins Aizen, and as Ichigo attacks Gin from behind, Isshin clashes with Aizen and flicks him through several buildings with a single finger. On the ground, Gin warns Ichigo that this time he will not hold back.

Aizen reveals he orchestrated the major events of Ichigo's life to guide his development. He discloses his hand in sending Rukia to the Human World and equipping Renji, and claims to have known Ichigo since birth. Isshin interrupts before Aizen can finish naming what Ichigo is, entering the fight in Shinigami form. Father and son join forces, with Isshin flinging Aizen through buildings and Ichigo turning on Gin, who vows not to hold back.

Adapting chapters 397 and 398 from the Fake Karakura Town confrontation, the episode leans heavily on flashbacks recapping Ichigo's journey. A Quincy Encyclopedia segment shows Ryūken firing arrows at a photo of Isshin and Ichigo after finding Isshin has slipped away. Isshin's signature moves Chōhigezutsuki and Oni Dekopin debut here, alongside flashback appearances of numerous Zanpakutō and Arrancar releases.
