Water Attack! Escape from the Shutdown Hospital

At night in Karakura Hospital, Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Sado, and Renji keep watch over a bedridden Uryū, whose ninth-floor room sits isolated so no bystanders can be caught in a Bount attack; Uryū notes his father owns the place. Across town, Hanatarō, now working a convenience store shift, is stunned when Ganju Shiba crashes down in a crater, and the two old comrades share a joyful reunion before slipping away from arriving police.

Back at the hospital, faucets begin dripping and then gushing as Hō and Ban unleash their Dolls, Guhl and Günther, masses of water that engulf Uryū and reform each time they are cut. Ichigo slashes with Zangetsu and Renji fights with Zabimaru, but the liquid keeps rebuilding until Rukia deduces its weakness and scatters it with Hadō #31, Shakkahō. A fire alarm empties the floors, though the patients go untouched, since Uryū is the true target, and the group navigates the building's strange Feng shui layout in search of an exit.

Cornered by relentless flooding, Ichigo improvises, sparking a lighter beside a canister of compressed oxygen and blowing out the eighth-floor windows in a burst of steam. The group crams into an elevator, and Ichigo and Renji cover their escape before dropping down the shaft to reunite outside. Their relief is short-lived: it is raining, and Hō and Ban remind them there is no fleeing water as a nearby puddle begins to warp.

It is established that Ryūken owns Karakura Hospital, and Uryū is deliberately kept as its lone ninth-floor patient. Hanatarō reunites with Ganju in the Human World. The Bount Hō and Ban attack with their water Dolls Guhl and Günther, targeting Uryū. Rukia discovers the Dolls' weakness and disperses them with Shakkahō. Ichigo detonates an oxygen canister to fight back, and the group escapes the hospital only to find the rain gives Hō and Ban an endless supply of water.

An anime-only installment of the Bount arc with no manga source chapters, this episode features the recurring Mod-Souls and a comedic elevator interlude in which Kurōdo tries to console a deflated Kon. Its Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book closer shows Kon watching a news report about the hospital explosion and realizing, to his horror, that he forgot to mind Ichigo's abandoned body.
