Overview

Five female Quincy who serve the Wandenreich as Sternritter make up the Bambies, a band that hangs about and wages battle together like a circle of friends. The group takes its name from Bambietta Basterbine, its onetime leader, yet the rest manage perfectly well on their own without her. Among themselves the women trade clipped pet names, going by Bambi, Lil, Meni, Candi, and Gigi.

Though they turn up almost always in one another's company, a sign of how close they are, they endlessly needle, ridicule, and snap at each other, and by Liltotto's account they seldom see eye to eye. They will also use one another when it suits them, most chillingly when Giselle slays and reanimates a frightened, wounded Bambietta while the others look on and say nothing.

Role

Being Sternritter, each of the five wields a lettered Schrift granted by Yhwach, respectively The Explode, The Glutton, The Power, The Thunderbolt, and The Zombie, and every one of them can also enter the heightened Quincy: Vollständig form. On her own, any Bambi commands spiritual pressure matching or topping a Gotei 13 captain, and as a unit they cut down a host of Eleventh Division Shinigami and came close to finishing a battered Kenpachi Zaraki. Their coordination is shaky all the same, faltering badly against Ichigo Kurosaki, who brushed off their joint attack, and Yhwach later scattered them with ease when they turned on him for revenge.

Across the Thousand-Year Blood War, the five joined the assaults on Soul Society, tangling with captains like Sajin Komamura and stealing away Bankai. Once Bambietta fell and was turned into a zombie, the survivors set upon the weakened Kenpachi, only for Ichigo to overpower them and Yhwach's parting blast to hurl them aside. Their storylines split further as Byakuya, Mayuri, and PePe Waccabrada joined the fighting, and after Yhwach's culling Auswählen, Giselle and Liltotto threw in with Bazz-B on a doomed attempt to kill their king inside Wahrwelt.
