Karakura-Raizer Team

When Hollow attacks on Karakura Town spike, Kisuke Urahara assembles this team of costumed defenders to keep the town safe. It carries forward the color-hero conceit of an earlier squad, with the modified soul Kon taking the lead as Karakura-Raizer and Don Kanonji returning in the role of Karakura-Raizer Spirit.

The team appears during a short anime-original arc, its members drawn largely from Ichigo's classmates and the Urahara Shop's circle, each fitted with a themed costume and a signature finishing move.

The squad forms while Ichigo Kurosaki, Uryū Ishida, and Yasutora Sado are away in Hueco Mundo rescuing Orihime Inoue, at a moment when Urahara fears the lone assigned Shinigami cannot keep pace with the rising Hollows. The team holds its own against flying Hollows before a rabbit-masked Arrancar leads an assault on the town ahead of Aizen's arrival. After regrouping, the heroes learn the enemy fortress is itself a Hollow made of many, plan their strike, and bring both the Arrancar and the fortress down.

With the battle won, every member except Ururu is lulled to sleep alongside the rest of the town. Urahara then reveals the whole enterprise was a ruse: the team existed to keep the Hollows occupied so they would not notice him planting the pillars needed for the looming fight in the fake Karakura Town. Uryū, it is noted, designed all of the squad's costumes.

Kon leads as Karakura-Raizer, using his powerful legs and a one-per-transformation energy blast, while Don Kanonji fights as Karakura-Raizer Spirit with his slow but explosive spirit balls. Ururu Tsumugiya returns as Karakura-Raizer Tiny-Devil, pairing her crushing strength with clawed gloves.

Newcomers round out the roster: Tatsuki Arisawa becomes Karakura-Raizer Beast, whose strikes erupt in fire, and Keigo Asano is Karakura-Raizer Delicate, built for outrunning Hollows and baiting their attention. Chizuru Honshō joins as Karakura-Raizer Erotic, gaining Arrancar-level speed and strength only near a pretty girl. The team is backed by the Urahara Shop and by Zennosuke Kurumadani, the town's own Shinigami, who signs on after his defeat.
