Shin'eiyaku is a pill devised by Kisuke Urahara to rescue Shinigami whose Bankai had been stolen by the Wandenreich. It briefly Hollowfies the Bankai, turning the seized weapon itself into poison for the Quincy holding it.
Known also as the Shadow Infiltration Pills, the Shin'eiyaku is a countermeasure cooked up by Kisuke Urahara for Shinigami who had lost their Bankai to the Quincy's Medallions. The pills take hold through nothing more than physical contact, evaporating as their properties are absorbed into the recipient.
The pill works by triggering a momentary Hollowfication in a Bankai's user. Because a Quincy's soul cannot take in Hollow Reiatsu without being destroyed, that taint turns the stolen Bankai poisonous to whoever seized it. The effect first surfaced when Tōshirō Hitsugaya's captured Daiguren Hyōrinmaru shattered and abruptly wounded Cang Du. The Bankai then drifts back toward its rightful Shinigami owner, though the process leaves that owner briefly Hollowfied as well; Hitsugaya, for one, gained a sheet of ice over a single eye and an echoing voice.
