Summary

Cornered by an enemy he can barely register, Sado stands guard over Karin while cursing his blindness to Bulbous G's movements. Karin, who sees the beast plainly, proposes a division of labor: she will announce every strike while he supplies the speed and force. The tactic keeps them alive through several near misses, until a swing catches Sado and flings the pair across the field. When Karin's soccer friends stumble in and mistake the blood for a beating, she throws herself over them to spare them the Hollow's next blow.

In that instant Sado recalls his late grandfather, Oscar Joaquin de la Rosa, who once begged the boy to stop returning hurt for hurt and to aim his size and power at shielding others instead. Resolving that his fists now exist to guard people, Sado drives another punch home and pleads for strength, and a surge of energy erupts through the Hollow's flank, shearing off its arm as his own right arm changes shape.
